    Wife Shoots 10mm Smith

We finally got a chance to go do some shooting. I started my wife off with the 10mm Smith (1066) that I got over in GA last week. Before I tell you how she shot, let me say that I still say "ma'am" to her.

The first round she fired was DA and was a little low but in the A zone of a IPSC target at 25'. Her second shot was the first SA round and it was also in the A zone and was a little higher. The next 8 rounds were a group around the A in the A zone and a 2" group. Most of the holes touched another hole. She did not want me to save this target so she kept shooting it. What was I to do tell her no? You may if you want to, but not me.

She liked the 10mm fine, but did not care about firing it again until we set up some milk jugs. We fired a few 180 gr. hollow points at the jugs. It's fun to watch the top get launched. A 10mm hollow point does a great job of launching the tops and blowing the back out of the jugs. The recoil on the 180 gr. jhp was not noticeably different from the 150 gr fmj. Great shooting pistol.

Bud, we were running late yesterday when we went to shoot. This is an extra full weekend with students arriving tomorrow and we just snuck in a short trip to shoot. Maybe next time I'll have enough sense to take the camera.

Cool, sounds like you better stay in line with her. But heck, anyone with a shooting partner is way ahead of most of us.

I tease about it, but it is great to know that I have a backup who shoots better than I do. She may not get into action quite as quickly, but she will be there when the need arises.

Excellent! I complement both of you (you George for getting the 1066...I have one and I love it....and her for doing a great job firing it).

All of the ladies, Sister, Wife and Daughter that I have given the basics on how to shoot a pistol took to it like a duck to water. I would not argue with either of them when they are armed. Most of their shooting is with a 9mm Hi Power or a 22 LR Ruger Mark II.

Glad it worked out. My wife also likes to shoot when she can and she can usually outshoot me (except for one revolver) when she puts her mind to do. Maybe one day I'll convince her to carry.

Glad to hear that the 10 Mike Mike round is still being fired and enjoyed by others......since SRFL is a die-hard fan of that fine round!
