Sent to me, I thought I'd share...impressive!
O.K. how many of you very knowledgeable folks out there even knew that a rifle like this even existed, especially back then? Seriously, I would like to know, because I sure didn't. A must watch.
This is an interesting bit of information. Would like to get one now, but I believe it would cost too much.

I remember seeing a good show?/video? about it before. It was touted as a large factor in the success of the expedition.

old news (sic) but good to see it being passed around.
it impressed the heck out of the indians than and many still today don't
give airpower its due
as i've noticed about others--that they do not always do as i think they will nor often as they say they will.
this not only makes life interesting, it makes it dangerous too.

Believe it or not, the Lewis and Clark journals mention killing several grizzly bears, as well as numerous deer and other game, as well as Indians, with air rifles.

Yes I had heard about it before.
It is amazing what technology was available back then. Thinking about what they had to work with, some of todays gadgets look pretty lame in comparision.
Thanks for the link and video though, was very interesting.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

I had read accounts of the L&C expedition and of course the use of the air rifle.
