I was a member for a year, and the only reason I didn't renew was the amount of junk mail I received. I swear it had to have cost more than my membership fee to print and mail that much junk over the course of a year. If I was to ever reconsider I'd have to be assured I wouldn't receive anything in the mail besides a new membership card and whatever magazine they want to send. Everything else they can tell me by e-mail or their website.

All it takes is one phone call to Member Services and they'll put you on the "do not solicit" list.

There are different types of recruiters...not every recruiter has access to all of the special options. Just like there are some recruiters that can't offer the deals we have.

The $300 lifetime membership is available to friends and family members of lifetime members, as well as retired and disabled veterans. Any life member can sponsor someone. Simply call the NRA at 1-800-672-3888, press 3 for the life membership department, tell them you want the $300 deal, and give them the referring life member's number.

That's good to know, I may have to do that when I have the money. I may sign up for a year and see how it goes, but I already have been offered the $25/year deal MULTIPLE times, so it's really no special discount...

I actually joined last week for the first time and very glad to do so. Like others have said, no organization is perfect, but the NRA is extremely well respected and diligent in fighting for our 2nd amendment rights. I am proud to be a member of this group. Paid full price for the 5 year membership and no regrets. Thanks. Steve

Worst president we ever had. Sorry, but you need to know that he was really bad for this country. A total disaster.
