    Thoughts on my new 1911 grips



    Wanted to here thoughts on these? Even if it's negative, just got them today they are buffalo bone

    Looks old-school. A classic double-diamond motif done in bone. Do they offer enough grip? Are they slick?

    The grip is a lot better then they seem like they would be... I'm not liking them very much though

    I recently picked up a Colt Government Model with the 1940s/early 1950s "Coltwood" stocks on it. These panels came with sharp molded-in checkering on them but as they are a form of plastic they are still a bit slick to hang on to. I'm intending to replace them for shooting use with a pair of checkered wood stocks of the same dimensions.

    Your opinion of them seems to center around their looks. Is that what you mean when you say you're not liking them very much? It would be nice to see the entire gun in a photo or two, dressed in these stocks.

    Sorry I don't like the look JMO. I put Hogue grips on all my 1911's not necessarily the sharpest look but for me they offer the
    best grip.

    Yeah I meant looks.. I try and get some better looking photos. I bought them from a guy at work today I don't completely hate them I thought they would go better with the stainless though

    Maybe you're thinking they'd offer more contrast to a blued gun than they do to the stainless steel?
