What Gun to Use for a Story?

A long, long time ago, when I was back in high school, I wrote a story about a possessed handgun. Now I want to revise it and actually publish it somewhere.

I am trying to decide what model of gun to use as the villain in the story. Right now it is a Glock 22 in .40 Caliber.

I'm not trying to paint Glocks as evil, since the good guy in the story will carry the exact same weapon, minus the possession, of course.

I want the gun used to be one that the average person will have heard of.

    Thoughts, anyone?

What time period will the setting be? What kind of entity will be posessing the gun?

Modern time period. Some kind of malevolent intelligence will be possessing the gun. The exact nature isn't going to be known. It will be able to influence some weak-minded criminal types and get them do more and greater crimes.

and to be 'evil' it needs to have a soul.

so that rather leaves glock out...

me, id put the evil in the metal...."on the moving production line, stray radiation passed through the cooling metal
of the semi-formed slide. who would have known that 6 years later that gun would cross pathes with the one made from the metal next to it. one in the hands of
a police officer, the other in the hands of a citizen possesed of strange needs."

    plastic just don't cut it.
    made in America Colt!!

Lorcin or Jennings would be good prospects.
Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME. Our success in this will be proportional to how hard we work to make it happen.

Keep 'em coming. I do want a non-gun person to be able to recognize the manufacturer of the gun, though. "Yeah, I heard of that gun", would be something that would go through the reader's mind. Or, for a gun person: "Oh, an evil ______, I can believe that."

So a generic revolver. just give a caliber... that is a "safe" gun to antis and non-gun people. No hicap mags, no evil black. Just a good old revolver.

A Colt Peacemaker that was rumored to have belonged to Doc Holiday. Only there's no real record of him ever owning such a gun. However the longer you own and use it the more it drains you with tuberculosis like symptoms. Trade off is that you just get faster and more accurate the sicker it makes you.

    A .40 cal "Christine"? A police trade-in used by a dirty cop?
