From one cowboy to another, congrats. I carry a S&W .22 AirLight with shot shells for bad stud horses. Have tried them on fighting bulls but they don't even notice. I have a Taurus .22 WMR revolver that I will try birdshot in this summer and see if it works better on bulls and rattlesnakes. Have to be careful though, years ago one of my uncle's shot a stud with bird shot out of a .22 rifle and the horse died of blood poisoning.

Hey lazytl there are somethings you don't want to admit to on the interwebs people get a little angry about them but I know exactly what your talking about. How close was your uncle to the stud that got lead posioning? I haven't ever heard of that happening.

    Welcome to DC buddy.

He was pretty close and using a rifle. As you know some studs can get really aggressive, but it was a bad choice on my uncle's part. This was 30 years ago now so I don't mind admitting it. It might keep someone from making the same mistake. I purposely use a little revolver and keep the distance at 30' or more. Just enough to sting them a little but not even break the skin. We sold our mares and stud and they went to south Texas so I probably won't have to worry about it any more.

    Good choices.

You'll love the EMP, anything wrong at all...let SA know and they'll have right back to you in great working order. Great gun.

I see we both buy our targets from the same place.

I wouldn't waste your money on .22 cci shot shells. It may look good on paper, but my son wanted to try some out and was disappointed to discover that they couldn't penetrate the side of a green-bean can from 10 feet.

Whec was he shooting .22 Longs or .22 mag? I'm curious to see what the mags will do to a rattle snakes head but don't want to have to shoot 5 times.

    Thanks Hiram.

Eagle good to hear S/A customer service is good hope I never need it though

Whec those are the new and improved Targets. The only change I see is mine change from white to yellow. And I can't draw a circle
