Maybe clear some confusion? (FTF acronym issue)

We've probably all come across and used the acronym "FTF". It seems to be used both to describe a "Failure to Feed" or a "Failure to Fire". For me, it can sometimes be confusing when reading long posts with alot of FTF's, FTE's, etc. I like to propose that the acronym "DNF" be used to describe a situation in which a firearm "Did Not Fire" instead of the "FTF" for "Failure to Fire". What say the hive?

Negative, I'm out of room for more acronyms.

    Former military and current mechanic.

Sometimes it seems my whole world is reduced to 3 and 4 letter abbreviations.

    But that's just IMHO! LOL!

Acronyms are funny. FTF (Failure to Fire) - (Face to Face) Ex: Happy to trade with you but FTF only. Think about it...

Sort of like the American Symphonic Society - Honering Our Legacy Entertianers. (You figer it out....)

    Probably... No F'n Way

Actually...while your intentions may be sound.....FTF results in only one thing.......(not hitting your target). Only a gunsmith is going to be concerned with a failure to feed or a failure to fire problem. Acronyms, synonyms, terms, terminology...etc. At times I'd like to propose new terminology myself like CUFTLEOTJSHWSP (cover up for the law enforcement officer that just shot himself with service pistol). You think that's gonna happen? No....... Happens more than we know!
As far as the "hive" is concerned....I'm neither a worker bee nor serving the queen....I'm my own bee and the honey I take is mine. I think you're looking for a daisy in South Dakota in the middle of December. Either way I figure your "FTF" is not gonna be good. You coining a new terminology in that respect with 'DNF' sounds somewhat awkward if not confusing with other pre-existing terms of the sort. Keep trying. It will hit you one of these days.

My wife had a routine procedure this past summer, after the six weeks of healing a friend asked if she needed HRT. I asked what in the world would she need a Hostage Rescue Team for. He said no not that HRT I mean Hormone Replacement Therapy. Multiple meanings for acronyms are a pain in the backside but we just have to live with them.
