Meet my new 45 CCW handgun

Not really... its a little to big for concealed carry, but what a fun gun to shoot. The Ruger Blackhawk 45 Colt Bisley. I love those big ol 45 Colt bullets. I loaded up some 250g XTPs for plinking and I got some 260g Beartooth cast bullets Im going to load hotter for hunting. I had to get the cylinder throats reamed as they were a little undersized. I can shoot 2 inch groups at 25y one handed so I think shes going to be a good shooter. Bambi better look out next deer hunting season.

Had 4 5/8 stainless Blackhawk in .45 colt. Loved it! Still kicking myself for trading it off!

I do like the long barrel on that Bisley. That Ruger was made to Hunt!

Have fun throwing those big hunks of lead down range!

It isn't too big! I'm fairly sure you could find a nice IWB holster for that.

Oooh! You could try appendix carry with it and impress all the women!

Seriously, though, nice looking gun. I bet it's a hoot to shoot! Enjoy.

I have this gun w/7" barrel just for hunting - shooting those 2" groups at 25yrds, you will like the results.
I carry it in a shoulder rig - awsome for off hand shooting when a deer seems to "appear" on your strong rifle side behind you. I also carry the same rig in Alaska when I am Moose hunting as a BUG.

Throw a few before season at 50 & 100 yards - you will be plesantly supprised at what you can get good at.

The .45 Colt is so under-rated. With a proper handload, it's very potent. Nice addition.

    Beautiful Ruger, wormy.

    I have a 4 5/8" convertible I use for the heavy .45 Colt loads.
