    Scary: elementary school abduction at gunpoint in my child's school district

    I just got a phone call from my child's school system stating that a child had been abducted at gunpoint while walking home from the bus stop. It really is scary when this hits so close to home. Here is what is posted on the RRPS website:

    Rio Rancho police are investigating the abduction at gunpoint and assault of a student in Rio Rancho yesterday. The student has been released, but the suspect is still at large. Parents and students should be extra vigilant while walking to school or bus stops. Our hearts go out to the student involved and the student's family.
    Thank god the child is safe, but unfortunately the scumbag is still at large.

    Here's the link to the story on the local news. Sadly the "assault" ended up being rape. I sure hope they catch this guy soon.
