Took my AR-15/EOTECH 512 out to the range yesterday

Took my AR-15 out yesterday put some rounds down range to sight in my EOTECH 512 and this is what i was able to do. not bad but i wish my eyes were 20 years younger. i was shooting at 50 yards using Wolf steel cased 55 r gr HP. what are your thoughts? Average? below average? i was placing the dot center mass and the rifle was resting on sandbags. I did try shooting 6 rounds at each of the 4 smaller corner targets and all shots were on paper so i like that part.

Not too bad. Maybe some better ammo might tighten them up a little bit.

i agree i notice a diff when i use better ammo, i instently shoot better (i know its all me not the ammo lol). but i put alot of the wolf 55g steel case through my rifle for just the fun plinking at the range. its cheap and the paper is still just as dead.
    good shooting though enjoy

Thanks. Cost is the biggest reason i use the Wolf and the steel cased ammo shot well as far as feeding/ejecting. Now though, i have to clean it and that is where the Wolf is a pain...it seems alot dirtier than Remington etc..

If you're going to be using higher-quality/different/better ammo other than the Wolf steel case for defense/SHTF/more serious purposes etc. then it would probably make a bit more sense to finalize your zero w/ your EOTech using that - and then be less concerned where exactly you're hitting with the cheap, fun, plinking stuff.

kinda agree with QK as when zeroing im going to use what has already proven itself to be the most accurate ammo with that gun.
i ensure a true zero and learn how accurate i can be with the new sight

my ar is 1/7 twist and i shoot handloads for 500 yards, green-tips or handloads for +125 yards and almost anything but steel for plinking.
