Whos dumped a 642/442 for an LCP???
Who here has dumped their S&W 642/442 in favor of carrying the significantly smaller Ruger LCP?
I have a 642 that I have been carrying when I can't hide my Glock 26 - with that said, the 642 is pretty darn close to my G26 in size that I almost never actually carry it over the 26... So I am wondering if I should drop down in size to the LCP which is DRAMATICALLY smaller for those "I'm Not Carrying" situations.
So who has done this?
Thanks!

I have all 3 and seem to carry the LCP more than the others. Small enough to throw in your pocket to run to the store.
When possible (clothing) I carry a 1911 commander but the little LCP has it's place.

I actually went the other way; dumped an LCP for a 442.

Same here. LCP rusted on me first day I pocket carried it. 642 has been terrific and IMO conceals easier. LCP looks like a gun in your pocket... snubby just looks like a blob of something.

I have both, got Elsie first (deal I couldn't refuse). Carry her more but just got my Remora for the 642. I almost never carry bigger except at the range. Can you afford both? My only worry with the lil guns is misfeed and fail to eject, but mine seems fine after several hundred rounds. I don't worry about the revolver ever.

The LCP just wasn't reliable enough for me.
That, plus the snub has more character

Haven't dumped one in favor of the other. But I've added to the mix, so I have something that is concealable no matter what I wear.
On me, due to tree trunk size thighs, the snubby bulges a bit more than I like in jeans. the 380 is small and flat. For me it's better for pocket carry. I carry the snubby IWB. But since it's about the same size as my G26 it rarely gets carried.

I can fully understand different choices for different people. But what on earth is unreliable about an LCP that I would like to hear.
There 3 of them around this house with a lot of rounds through them Unreliable is not a word I would ever attach to them.

If you want a reliable .380 you should look at the S&W bodyguard 380. It is just a tiny bit bigger then the LCP so it's a little easier to hold but still disappears into a pocket. Plus it has sights. I know everyone says you don't need sights on a gun like that but I sure like having them more then those things on the LCP. jmho

Same here. My small carry gun of choice is my S&W 638.
