GSG 1911 slide Crack Update
I'll post pics later,But it looks like GSG has redesigned the slide and barrel I got back from the factory.
The old slide if you look at my pics had the bolt face milled into the slide and the barrel had a top protrusion that recessed into a notch in the slide when in battery like standard 1911's
The new slide appears to have a removable bolt face/assembly that fits into the notch that the barrel protrusion fit into in the old slide, and the barrel is now cut flush with no protrusion.
I am going to guess that they determined the slide failure was caused by the barrel protrusion striking the bolt face and over time causing the slide to fracture. The new bolt face is more than likely made from steel and will not fail like the pot metal

Good to know they seem to be paying attention.
So run another 10,000 rounds or so through the new guy and see if it holds up!

Can you post pics of the old and new side by side so we can see the difference? A picture is worth a thousand words...and two pictures comparing something worth more than double in my opinion. Thanks!!!

I will post some pics some time today,I was gonna shoot it yesterday, after getting to the range I field stripped it to lube the slide rails and as I was reassembling the gun I noticed the ejector tip was missing "WTH" It wasn't broke when it got sent out,so now I gotta call them and tell them to ship me a new ejector.

Sig Sauer 1911-22
I recently bought a Sig version of the GSG 1911-22 and it has the added piece in the slide. Does this help the slide fracture problem?
