I am getting a Ruger 22/45 Target model. Why? I am planning to get into competition shooting and I figure the 22/45 is a good starter for the rimfire stage of the shooting, plus it is all I can afford right now ;-) Plus I do not have a 22 LR handgun and want one. Cheap shooting and practice. The gun grips like a 1911 but shoots cheap ammo.

    Ruger SR 1911.
Why? It is far more value than it is priced at. An outstanding 45 out of the box.
You can never have to many 1911's and I have enough of most of the others.
Now that is what I would buy.
If you looking for a Better version of the AR/M4 plat form one of these will serve you for a life time . An up to date Ar is what it is base model would serve you fine no need for the top of the unless you just want it

Great hand gun! don't forget to purchase a case of ammo for it! ( you don't have to save your brass with that one!)

For me it comes down to the utility of the firearm. Do I need this, or do I just want it ?

I "need" something small and portable for concealed carry at night when walking the dogs. There's alot of of options out there and I need something that I can comfortably shoot one handed, point application, possibly with CTC laser grips.

    That's just me.

A carbine of some type would add a lot of versatility to that collection. Have you ever considered participating in a 3-gun match? The most common carbine used at IDPA 3-gun matches is the AR-15 or M4. There is a reason for that.

BTW, always love this topic whenever it shows up.

Colt, S&W or Ruger .357 wheelie. All kinds of fun.

I'm thinking about a Glock 19. Would like something in 9mm that's easier to carry than my Taurus 92.
    Cheers!

Whatever catches my eye at the moment. I carry a printed half page, small font, list of guns I want to buy to share with friends and gun shops that includes my phone number.. It includes some specific models and some generalized descriptions. And then I see or am offered something different and if it strikes my fancy, I take it home

So many guns, so little money.

I want one of those as well. Could be the purchase I make after the next one.

The next one coming is a custom build (WMG=Working Mans Gun) from Joe Chambers.
