Question Anybody See A Practical Use For This??

For all intents and purposes, a side by side 1911.

AF2001-A1 "Second Century" - Double barrel pistol - YouTube

Hate to try to clear a FTF or FTE from this thing.

Also, doesn't firing more than one round with a single depression of the trigger make it a machine gun?

    Nope.

I have no problem with the polymer 1911s, but THIS is stupid.

I can see it practical for a few reasons.

    • .90ACP isn't out yet.
    • Carrying dual 1911's is too Hollywood
    • You find the Large backstrap too small on Glocks.

More than one cartridge fired with a single trigger pull, good luck with the BATFE.

ATF might call it "Fast and Furious."

From what I can tell it has 2 triggers and 2 sears etc so I'm gonna assume that would pass the BATFE smell test,I see absolutely no use for it,if that thing jammed you now need to clear 2 barrels, looks like it takes a special "double" mag that is gonna cost an arm a leg and a testicle.

BUT, to find a big PLUS here that 3D computer stereo lithographic modeling and designing and then being able to have all of that immediately precision CNC machined into an actual prototype is really going to be an eventual huge boon to the firearms industry in general.

So if you look at this particular firearm as a real world experiment with regard to what sorts of amazing complex things can be accomplished with the most modern of manufacturing technique then it's all pretty doggone neat and worthwhile.

One of these days you'll be able to buy a custom pistol with a 3-D sculptured likeness of your face machined right into the slide.

Yes it does, but it is not like a double rifle or shotgun, it fires two projectiles with one trigger pull, it has only one hammer.

Well, if it has 2 full length guide rods, I'll have to have at least one.
