I would happily go to prison for pulling the arm off of anyone messing with my child and then beating them to death with their own fist.
I have six children (teens to age 40) and have seen attitudes change so much since I first began raising them in the early 70's. While I am well aware of those bad guys & gals who would take advantage of a child's innocence, the fear of being accused of child molestation has stopped a lot of good people from interacting with children and giving those children the benefit of their knowledge and experience. Most people are now even afraid to reply to a child asking a question for fear of being accused of simply THINKING about something bad. It's also reached a point where even when a child is in an OBVIOUSLY dangerous situation (alone in a crowded parking lot for example), many people are unwilling to get involved just because of the POTENTIAL their actions could be misrepresented. My wife has told me more than a few times not to get involved when a lost child is reported at a shopping mall or we see a small child alone by the street because so many people assume the worst in other peoples motives and we could be accused of something nefarious.
It's a sad statement on where we are as a society.![]()
