I have a super cheapo on my daughters .22 - it works great. It isn't a Nikon Monarch that I have on a different gun, but by golly I key holed a 3 rounds today at 100 yards with it.
I have a few BSA scopes. Granted I bought these several years ago. I still see some more current reviews on the internet that pretty much tell you either get a good one or bad one. I've personally never had any problems with the ones I have. I do think they are good optics for the price. Good, better, best.........LOL! I am happy with the ones I own and they have been used extensively. I'm not rough on any of my accessories no matter what the cost. I would also say if you're looking for a budget rifle scope with good features and mounting it on a 22LR, then it's a good buy. If you want to know more, check rimfirecentral.com
In optics, you get exactly what you pay for.
Dude go with a Nikon and don't look back....
I bought one a decade ago - a cheap 3x12 - for my .270. Well, last shot for sighting in the reticle rotated 45* and I didn't notice (I was done) - unless it got knocked loose while in the case during transport. Well I see a herd of deer when I am hunting, get prone, look through my scope - and I cussed and cussed. I watched the herd for a while, got up, turned around, and spooked a buck about 30 yds away.
Life's too short to count on a cheap scope.
Been Screwed Again
I've had a couple for knock around guns, I'll never own another.
I use BSA optics on rimfires and airguns, but I wouldn't chance a cheapie like that on a centerfire hunting rifle. By the time that buck is in your crosshairs, you've invested too much time and money to take a chance on a less rugged optic - see the previous post!
For rimfire rifles and 223 and seems to hold up.. i wouldnt throw bsa optics on bigger caliber guns.
Garbage, Do NOT do it. Buddy works in a shop and he says they get calls about how crappy they are all the time.
