New shooter trained & enjoying her new sport.
I spent several hours at home and then two hours at the range training my son's new "significant other" in safe firearms handling and shooting. Amazing the things that people have told women about "dangerous & deadly firearms". She was amazed to learn that pistols do not go off all on their own. She was astounded to discover that a 1911 has three safety devices and some models have even more. She was happy to know that a Smith & Wesson revolver will only go 'bang' when the trigger is pulled.
But mainly, she was pleased to note that she shot a group about 3" in diameter at 25 feet, right in the center of the bullseye. All 50 rounds of .22 rf. Meanwhile, the "Master Blasters" on both sides of us were perforating silouette targets in patterns like 20" in diameter also at 25 feet. She moved on to a .32 ACP Beretta with no problem and then (at her request) two rounds with a .45 1911 with reduced loads.
She went home a safe and competent beginning shooter AND she had a good time becoming one.
One more vote for the second amendment, in the bank.
