New pistol today!
Well, I see the the threads all of the time of new pistols. Many of you know that I'm pretty happy where I'm at as far as pistols are concerned...not many wants or needs. But I've been sort of wanting a pistol in 22LR for a while and things fell into place today. This is going to be my cheap shooter for Steel Challenge, and I'll be satisfied just knowing I'll be making the matches last longer for everyone else like they've been doing to me for a couple of years now......LOL! I originally had my heart set on a Walther P22. I've held a few and they just didn't have the balance I like. This is the Ruger MKIII 22/45 Target model and I've already ordered some Hogue finger groove grips for it. It feels right. Hope to fire the first rounds out of it this weekend.

Enjoy, you made the right choice on the Ruger over the Walter for hitting the steel.

Pre owned but never been fired. I put the rail on it today after I got it home. Made a new local friend as well....single stack shooter and ex-Marine, former LEO, and a great guy.
Y'all feel free to give me good options for a quick sight optic for this baby. Keep in mind target acquisition and steel........LOL! I can't wait.

Yeah.....I think you're right. I've been working it out all day since I got it home, and I could hold it all day long for sight picture. Perfect balance for me.

My MKII is a dream for accuracy. You can just drill the x all day long with that bad boy. Good shooting to you - good choice.

I've got an older model Mark II Bull Barrel. I love shooting it. Enjoy.

Congrats. Always nice to have a new one, and one that's inexpensive to shoot to boot. Even better!

Nice looking mk iii 22/45, i bought one two months ago. Looks like the same one in your picture. It was used but never fired. Lady said it was the Talo Edition. Put over five hundred trouble free rounds through it so far. Just installed a red dot sight on it, now it drives tacks!! I'm a Ruger fan this makes number four. SP 101, SR 40c, LCP with crimson trace. Looking for a SR1911.

Nice choice of a fine pistol, I have a Ruger Standard Model that is probably older than some members here but it has taken it’s share of turkeys and hams at local turkey shoots.
