    next gun time

alright, I have my main carry piece (S&W shield). What other guns should I be looking are just fun. I do kinda want a .45, but not apposed to a .22 either. I want something that would be fun to shot, maybe even a competition gun. also I will be getting a few revolvers in the near future from my grandpa, since he no longer shoots them.

basically what are a few guns in under $2000ish that are just fun.

Well, every 'gun guy' needs a 1911. Preferably Colt, but the Springfield 1911-A1 is great (my EDC). .357 snub is the 'other' gun guy's gun.

The Walther P22 is pretty BA for a .22. Got to shoot one of those a few months ago and it was great. Everybody should have an AK- the dark side is a wonderful place.

The Ruger LCP/LCR/TCP all have their own cult followings.... Where to start is pretty much what you need to work out- long guns, short guns, or 'pocket' guns? Then go from there.
"Rock and load, lock and roll... what's it matter? FIRE!!"

"Gun control means hitting your target every time."

Please take everything I say with at least one grain of salt- I am a very sarcastic person with a very dry sense of humor.

I think one of the revlovers is a .357 mag, i know one is a .44 mag. Since he no longer travels to alaska to fish he doesnt shoot them anymore

Was really thinking of a 1911 actually

I'll ALWAYS recommend that a .22 be on the list. With the ammunition so much cheaper you can practice more, and they really can get someone introduced to shooting without having to worry about recoil or excessive muzzle blast.

From there, picking what you want depends on what you'll want to do with it, but Rugers and Browning Buckmarks seem to be the on the de facto 'I want a .22' short list.

For the 22, one of the Ruger autos would be nice (I've had the 22/45 for many years) and they are very affordable. For the 45, there are many. To me the best bang for the buck is the STI Spartan. If you want to go up to 2K, then look at the Les Baer lineup, or with luck, you might find a used Ed Brown.
Chose a weapon that goes bang EVERY time!
