I don't get it. Was the safe involved in a house fire?

Someone torched the lock mechanism out of the safe. I assume they emptied it?

The idea was, not to depend only on your gun safe to keep your guns safe... Someone found out that shouldn't have and by the looks of it they came prepared. Perhaps an alarm would have helped. I don't tell ANYONE what I have! And the picture IS worth a thousand words.

this is one of the reasons a safe out in the open where anyone can see it is not a good Idea.

That can happen and i know that the remington safe was some money but that won't of happen with a better quality safe like Liberty but those safes have there stuff together...ball bearing system so if someone tried to drill on it..it will break there drill bits its a little more expensive but if you have a lot of guns its not that much more money...

Safes are great to have, but there is always a way for some thief to steal something. Near where I live, a guy took a wrecker, wrapped the cable around a safe, pulled it right through the wall of the building.
Unfortunately, the idea that some thieves aren't too bright was true for this guy, since the safe dragging along the street behind the wrecker happened to catch the attention of local law enforcement....

A safe only affords you time, ANY safe. With enough time, and the correct tools, any safe can be compromised. More than one layer of security is needed.

    A Determined Thief...

will not be stopped...you'll only be able to slow him down. Now I agree that one should not publish a story of "How I Store My Guns"...but for the average dirtbag breaking into a home...a safe would certainly help create a decision to find easier pickin's!

The potential BG's out there need to be informed that after breaking into the residence, lugging all their tools and torches up to the 2nd. floor safe, after the INSIDE of the safe is subjected to the temps(probably 400+deg.) that is associated with burning thru the locking mech.,there wont be anything left of the material inside the safe. --DUH !! --------
