Transfer of .50AE Desert Eagle To CA

I have a legal issue/question. I live in Arizona and have a Brushed Chrome Desert Eagle chambered in .50AE that a friend of mine that lives in California wants to buy. As far as I know the pistol has never been registered in California. The Brushed Chrome DE isn't on the approved list for the commie state. My question is this, can I legally transfer this pistol to him so he can legally posess it? We went to 2 different gun shops and were told two conflicting stories. One store said that it wouldn't be an issue since it's a private transfer, the other stating that we couldn't do so because the pistol was never registered in California. If anyone knows the answer for sure or knows where/who to talk to in order to find the answer for this question it would be much appreciated.

I am 99% positive that you can't. If it were from California, a private party transfer would be no problem. Since it is from out of state, it cannot be transfered. Those of us in California have to put up with this caca all the time...
