Finally after 18 Months my Wilson Combat Finally Arrives!!

So 18 months ago, I custom ordered a Wilson Combat Professional. I wanted something that was unique, an heirloom if you will. A pistol that would be passed down to my youngest son. Something that would live on after I was gone that he would remind him of his Dad and how much I enjoyed firearms (I know -- very sappy)

Anyway, I was told 4 - 6 months for delivery when I ordered it. I paid my money and waited (not something I do very well - I am very impatient). Needless to say, I was getting very restless after the 7 month mark. I almost cancelled the order several times thinking I could spend the money elsewhere! Well, I finally got fed up and called my LGS and asked to cancel my order. They said no problem, we will refund your money and also give you first option to purchase it when it comes in. Well work was busy and I never went in to collect my money. Well a week later I get the call that it finally came in. Begrudgingly, I went in to look at it. Sure thatI would pass on it...When it was taken out of the packaging and unveiled, I was awestruck. Suddenly all of the impatience just disappeared. It was exactly what I had envisioned when I purchased ordered it.

So for your viewing pleasure here is my Wilson Combat Professional

Oooooh. Purty! More pics, more pics. Of course, once you've taken 'er out for a spin at the range it would be great to see the accuracy snapshots, too. Nice pistol, there.

A great story of impatience and ultimate gratification.

It's in .38 Super too! OOOooo... I like the notion of .38 Super! Am a sucker for coler case hardening so that's a nice touch.

So I haven't had a chance to test it thoroughly but here is the pic I took after I shot the first magazine through it. This grouping was shot with Cor-bon defensive ammo at 8 yards with both eyes open and shooting for speed over accuracy.

I'm still not sure how I feel about Wilson's new logo, but that sure is a fine looking pistol regardless.

You know JD I felt the same way! It really liked the old logo and would have preferred it over the new one. However, the new one is starting to grow on me!

I've pretty much decided that should or more likely, when I order a Wilson, that I will have them omit that particular logo from the slide. I really do like that bluing...Would love to have a CQB with that finish.
