    Finished the two 10/22 builds

The target 10/22 came out just as I had envisioned so I am happy. I wanted a simple military type look to the build and that worked out nicely with the OD green Hogue stock and black 18" Green Mountain barrel. The base rifle was one of the three 10/22's I purchased last weekend NIB for $179. I sold one of my AK's I owned and that pretty much provided all the funds for the two builds I did this week.

The other 10/22 build (M1 carbine replica)
When I leave the home port:
S&W 642 Airweight, Ruger SP 101, Colt Detective Spec., CZ RAMI, Kahr PM9, Kahr CW40, S&W Model 10-7, Glock 30, 19, and 26, Browning Hi Power, CZ82, Colt Commander, Dan Wesson PM7, Ruger LCP

Those are really, really cool. I love the idea of the "mock" M1 Carbine.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

Very nice 10/22 builds. It's a wonderful addiction building exactly the ones that you want. Be careful though, if it gets too far out-of-control you'll be spending more than it costs to buy a factory-new Volquartsen (don't ASK me how I know ).

Exellent ! They both look great. All you lack is an integrally suppressed barrel.

Is there any other rifle more affordable and more adaptable/customizable than the Ruger? We just blew through 400 rounds today and it cost $30. I have 5 new Butler Creek 25 rd steel lip mags, which have had some doubts cast as to reliability, and they all cycled with every type of .22LR ammo known. Zero FTL's today, even in hyper-fire.

Nice! I really like the green stock, and the M-1 carbine replica.

I've got a couple of 10-22's, one a target build with a high power scope, the other one is stock parts, but modified by me (trigger job, fire-lapped barrel) with a cheap red dot. Very different rifles for very different purposes, I enjoy them both. I've shot the stock rifle more lately, mostly just fun plinking at steel plates and soda cans. The red dot is great for that.

Very nice. I especially like the bull barrel in OD green. This thread is giving me ideas, which is not good. I still need to get a case for my new AR so it will have some shelter and there's a G19 somewhere out there that needs a new home and being the big hearted kind of guy I am, I'm going to oblige.
