    I learned to use Gunkote

After always wanting to refinish my own guns, and a gentle push from a very good friend, I decided to give Gunkote a try. I ordered an airbrush kit from Amazon, bought a cheapo sandblast siphon gun from Tractor Supply along with a bucket of aluminumoxide, 4oz. cans of Gunkote directly from KGCoatings, a mask, goggles, and gloves.

Sandblasting with a siphon gun is so easy it's ridiculous and the gun was only $20.

Using a single stage airbrush is so easy it's crazy and they are super cheap.

Spraying Gunkote is so easy a buffalo could do it.

Sorry I don't have a before but this is a Colt Combat Elite, which came with a stainless frame/controls and blued slide. I blasted everything and did the controls and slide in silver, frame, bushing and extractor in deep flat black.

If I gave a crap about what you think about my guns.....it was early this morning and I already flushed it!

My compliments to your project, very nice! Sounds about like my set-up except for the mask, I tried to use one but got frustrated and chucked it. It's fun doing projects like that huh?

I just learned how to do Rust Blue about a month ago, that was fun too.

    Looks awesome.
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
