I don't know why I waited so long to pick one of these up! .22 is sooooooo freaking cheap! And yes...the scope is the scope is overkill :)

'Just funnin' ya, Rollo. Everybody needs at least one .22. For fun, try to find a box of .22 longs (not long rifle). They're so quiet, it'll sound like you're shooting an air rifle. BTW, is that a Marlin?

Take the sunshade off that scope and it won't look so much like a B-movie prop. But the rifle looks kinda' familiar. What kind IS it?

Honestly, congratulations on buying what may possibly be the most happily accessorized rifle in the world. Everyone should own at LEAST one of 'em (and parts scattered-around for two or three more). As for ammo cost, any trigger time is still trigger time!

I love shooting .22LR... I feed my 15-22 at least a couple thousand rounds a month for very little money.

Rollo, I'm not so sure that scope is overkill. I took my old 10/22 that wouldn't group worth a lick any more, put a Butler Creek .920 barrel on it with a Hogue overmolded stock, and a BSA "Sweet .22" scope. The thing is scary acurate ow!

The boys over at rimfirecentral.com know the 10/22 like a bo-weevil knows cotton. But be warned, there's a common infectious disease associate with that little Ruger carbine "Rugerous Modificus". It's when you, over time, spend so much money customizing a 10/22 that you could've have bought a new...Anschutz SuperMatch 54! Be careful.
