    Ya know, it does make it easier to communicate when using acronyms. For instance;

    When the LEO approaches thinking I'm a BG because I CC. I CC for SD so I show him my CCP for my EDC which allows me to OC or have a CCW. He asks if I think its wise to OC or CC and I say it doesn't matter if it's IWB, OC, SC or OWB for SD against the BG, IMHO! He says WTH? And I say INAL but I have COPD and can't call out PD but have to draw my EDC from my IWB OC, SC or OWB in SD against the BG. The LEO gives back my CCP for CC and says OK.

    Without acronyms to help create clear communications this might have gone bad. IMO.

    I still have cheat sheets (Military Acronyms and Abbreviations - Acronym Finder) that I reference, seems I am always coming across military acronyms I've never seen before.

    My old department some of the guys proposed the creation of a Fast Action Response Team and for the narcotics guys a Special Highway Interdiction Team.
    For some reason the boss shot both of those down.

    I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.

    There's a bunch of them that's for sure. Every once in a while I'll stumble on one that stumps me for a minute. But after reading and deciphering shorthand abbreviations for years....it don't take me long. You'll get used to it and your thought process will change believe me.

    Oops, got caught by the word censor, or in this case the acronym censor.

    More acronyms than you ever want to deal with and some are downright nasty.

    B.O.B. - is the Bug Out Bag.

    The I.N.C.H. bag is the I'm Never Coming Home which would be far more extensive, heavier and inclusive of longer term necessary items.

    A G.H.B. is a Get Home Bag.
