Why 2A is so important. Defensive shooting in U.K. lands husban and wife in jail
Check this out. Sitting at home and 4 people invade your house. You grab your shotgun and shoot 2. The others run. Cops come and take you and your wife to jail.
Don't believe it?? Just happened in the U.K.

I hope cases like this convince some of them to get a clue over there. It really is a shame that the country whose legal system inspired much of our Bill of Rights has come to this.

I gave up on trying to figure out the Brits a long time ago. Arresting a person for shooting at home invaders is about as stupid as it gets.......sadly there are those idiots that think making victims submit is a more humane and elevated mindset than taking out the criminals.
But then again, thinking on Britain's recent history, it is not surprising that during WWII their own government had to supply many of their own home defense auxiliary with lengths of pipe that had bayonets welded to the end to "fight off a possible German invasion" instead of just saying, "You guys show up with your own rifles and pistols!"

The basis of a mans home being his castle derives from century old British Law. Unfortunately over time they lost all common sense and now by British Law, a mans castle is everyone else also.

Not surprising, I remember some years ago a homeowner beat a burglar with a bat or a similar weapon seriously injuring the criminal. Both were arrested tried and sent to prison. The criminal was released a few years later but the homeowner was denied parole due to being a threat to burglars. And the Brits think we’re crazy, don’t think so.

Years back NY City did the same things to their residents. After Bernie Goetz, it wasn’t so common place to imprison someone for defending oneself.
One case that sticks in my mind was a woman that had been married to a fellow that was put in prison for beating his wife. The entire time he was in prison he sent home letters, stating that when he got out he was going to get even with her and her little brats.
On the day of his release he called her and told her he was going to kill her and her brats. He busted down the front door, entered the home, told her he was going to do the children first so she could watch and then kill her.
She got the kids into the basement bathroom locked the door, told him she had a gun. He busted down the door, that is when she shot him in the head with a .22 LR he died.
In court the judge gave her two years because he felt she could have gotten out of the home through the bathroom window.

Andy Ferrie and Tracey Ferrie: Couple held over shooting of two burglars in midnight raid were planning to emigrate to Australia | Mail Online
One thing in the article got my interest about a case in 1999:
In 1999, Norfolk farmer Tony Martin was arrested after shooting burglars during a break-in at his remote farmhouse. He did not have a firearms licence.
Fred Barras, 16, was killed and his friend Brendan Fearon, 29, suffered gunshot wounds to his legs.
Fearon later admitted conspiring to burgle the farmhouse, accompanied by Barras, but Martin was tried at Norwich Crown Court and jailed for life for murder in 2000.
His murder conviction was later reduced to manslaughter and he was released from jail in 2003.
Please note the US is headed to this also as tHE U.N. has appointed University of Minnesota Law Professor Barbara Frey here is a quote out of her report:
On July 27, Frey issued her final report, declaring that there is no human right to self-defense and that insufficient gun control is a violation of human rights.

The Brits have always been screwed up. Its the reason that anyone left with common sense boarded ships a few hundred years ago and founded this country.
It's also the reason that they didnt beleive or understand that the commoners that colonized thus country could or would stand against a king that had most powerful military system of the world at that time.
Most of them beleived it was not only stupid to stand against the King and his men, but suicidal.
Fortunatley for us, some real men, that were willing to lose their lives for principals, prevailed against all odds and won. Eventually, the most powerful country the world has ever seen came to be.
This lack of common sense with the Brits is nothing new, its been going on for centurys. I dont expect them to understand anything about the U.S....most of the people there still bow to a Queen.
The British mindset of giving in is as foreign to me as it gets. Its not me, I dont subscribe. I feel sorry for the people over there that cant legally defend themselves.
I would rather stand against the cannons of the wicked than against the prayers of the righteous.
