    Gen 3 Glock 21 accessories

Hey all you gun shooting enthusiasts!
I have a new Glock 21 that I am looking to make better. Any suggestions or thoughts. I currently have a quick detach laser and flashlight, that's it. I don't want to waste time modifying my Glock with substandard parts that will jeopardize the reliability of the gun as I use it for self defense. I was thinking about changing out the trigger since its such a long pull. Also, the slide lock release is annoying to try to push as my ackward fingers can't seem to press it down (might be user error or maybe its designed for smaller fingers?). I'm sure I will be asked this anyways so I'll answer right now to save time. I am looking to basically just make the gun comfortable, manageable, reliable, and easy to use when the adrehnaline and sweat start pumping (my hands get sweaty sometimes). Any input at all would be awesome. Also, I carry with Black talon ammo that a friend gave me (he still had some from before they quit making it), but I'm wondering...what's good ammo in .45acp? I keep seeing Gold Speer on any forum talking about 9mm's, thoughts? Also, FMJ, expanding rounds, flachettes, any of these worth it (application would be indoors CQB or downtown city ghetto (my dad has income property and I sometimes have to go down there). Thank you so much!

IMO......the G21 is good to go as is factory. I do like solid guide rods/springs in mine over the stock depending. 3rd gen G21 is about as handful as I want to get. Best range ammo is 230gr FMJ. Best carry ammo? Left up to you and what you can consistently hit with. +P is no problem in the large frames IMO.

I bought a G30SF and bought a 10mm conversion and 10mm mags to make it shoot 10mm also. Basically it turns your G21 into a G20.... no other transformations are needed.

Here is the barrel for your G21.

And here is the 10mm mag needed. The mag is needed because 10mm won't feed correctly from your .45 mags.

This is what makes my G30SF shoot 10mm.

Another recommendation that I have is night sights. I have these on all of my Glocks.

    They are made by Trijicon.

    Have fun!

Leave the trigger alone. It works as designed for a reason. Install an extended slide lock lever. (I don't care for the OEM lever either.) Yes, slamming home a mag can release the slide on a Glock (or many other makes as well). Gold Dots are an excellent choice, as are many other brands.

You can spend a lot of money buying and installing gizmos on your G21, but in my opinion it is mostly good-to-go from the factory. The only change I made was to install XS Big Dot sights. They make it easy to index the weapon quickly and accurately inside 7 yards.

Spent45ACP.jpgIMHO, I wouldn't change a thing. When I first got into Glocks I almost fell pry to the hype of modifing them. I realized one day that they were designed they way they are for a reason. I traded for a Glock 30 with the extended mag release and slide stop and I hate it. I want the OEM parts back on it. The extended slide stop is terrible and the extended mag release makes the gun wider and easier for the mag to be dropped. I will not carry this Glock because of those mods. If they will fit, I will trade you for the factory parts for these extended ones. Good Luck and welcome to the Glock Club.
Winchester still makes Black Talons. They call them Ranger T's and they are beast! That's all I carry.

I'm leaving my Glock stock, using my money for ammo..

Mine too, I just wish I could find some G23 mags for the G27.

My Glock-21 is a great stock HD tool...I only made two additions: Trijicon Night Sights, and the SureFire x300 SureFire X300 LED WeaponLight--White Light

Like OldVet said, the trigger on these is best left as is. Although I personally like the NY1's on the 17's and similar frames, it is not good on the 21's. I replace the factory sights on Glocks with a Trijicon or similar night sight because they are not only better for low light work, but they are also more durable. Gold Dots are a great round to feed your 21, and I have carried them on duty as a police officer. Trust me they work very well. If you can't find any Gold Dots a fine alternative is the Remington Golden Saber. The ballistic tests I have seen shows that they expand well and penetrate to a proper depth without being over penetrative for the most part. Other than good leather to carry it in that is about all I would do to one. Congrats on a GREAT pistol!
