45ACP - XD vs. Glock 21, Your Thoughts

I'm looking to pick up a .45 to use as a range toy and as a primary hunting sidearm.
I can get both for the same price to the money factor is a wash.
I already own and enjoy at one XD but I'm not married to them.
I'm open to the idea of trying something new and the Glock 21 fits the bill.
To me, they're essentially the same gun just made by different people with a few minor differences.
I could go either way here.

    What's your take?

I've shot both and found the XD to be bulky and not as accurate. Each person has to decide for themselves, but I'd recommend the Glock.

Between the two, I'm not crazy about a grip safety. I don't need it, and it's just something else that can fail.

have you considered the XD Tactical or Tactical Compact with a 5" barrel? Would make a really nice hunting handgun. I have the XD Tactical Compact .45 with the abbreviated grip
that holds 10 rounds with the additional mag with extension holding 13. Its a shooter.

while I am normally a Glock guy, the G21/20 are the only two Glocks I do not really care for. Just feel unnatural in my hands. (can you say 2x4?)

The 5" is actually the one I've been eyeballing.

I'm partial to the abbreviated grip of the compact version for CCW. Carry it in a Don Hume Open Top leather belt holster.

Also sees duty as "You picked the wrong house gun".

Between those two, I'd say the Glock 21, but get the 21SF with the picatinny rail. I had one, and I regret selling it. Yeah, it looks like a stapler, and sounds like a toy when you rack the slide, but there was something about it I miss. Now, for concealed carry, I'd much prefer my XDs in .45

I love my G21 Gen4, a favorite Glock for me. Excellent weapon. Highly recommend it.

I'm a Glock man but I know that the XD and XDM are fine handguns. I would hold both and see which one feels better. One of the best feeling pistol I have ever held was a FN.

I have both, but rely on the G21sf. No grip safety, less take-up and good reset on the trigger.
