I was going through my Marine gear this evening and I found these
a couple mags that were used with m16's/m4's. Am I right to think that any 5.56 weapon such as some ar's ect.... will be able to use these if I were to ever buy one? I was looking at some ar and ruger mini mags (online not in person) and they seem similar. If the answer is yes that would be awsome.

Will fit M16/AR15 platform (as well as a few more rifles) however the mini 14 is a different mag .

Yeah, the Ruger Mini-14 not being an AR platform, your standard M16/M4 mags will not fit that platform.
However they are good to go on probably all of the AR platform .223/5.55 guns. Unless you run into some odd ball AR which has a proprietary mag of some sort.
They will also work on AR's chambered for the .300 Blackout round since they use a .223 cartridge that is cut down to accept the .30 cal bullet. The .300 Blackout uses standard 5.56/.223 AR mags.

Funny thing a few years back I found an 106 ammo box that I had stored from the the Corps. I opened it up and found my shooting gear and M14 magazines. I did the proper thing and went out and bought a M1A.
You should do the same. By the way my Springfield will hit harder then your AR.
