I recently purchased a 5906 second hand, recently I was talking to a co-worker about it. He told me he had a S&W 59 back in the day before but traded the 59 for something else, but had a spare mag so he offered to sell/trade me the old mag if it would fit. So I just thought i'd see if anyone had experience with this and knew if the mag/gun would line up properly?

yes it will fit. All Series 59 mags will fit the 3rd Generation Smiths....ie 5906.
note on this site how it even lists the Smith & Wesson Mags as Series 59. Tha't what you're looking for for the 5906.
