Yep! Beenie-Weenies, spam and rice! Got that laid in heavy for when the 'Big One' occurs out here. For those of you who may not know, Beenie-Weenies and other such canned goods are just down home comfort food! Kind of makes me a little nostalgic for C-Rats...................... (Edit Add) And don't forget about canned gravy.... goes well with any wild game or roots you can scrounge up.

Really, my prayers to anyone who is suffering out there. Especially since the temp is going way down tonight in the region.

They hide in plain sight. They're actually all around us.

I took a pretty direct hit from hurricane charley in fort myers and Went through two others (wilma and francis)around then when I was going to UM. I remember waiting for our electricity to come back on after Wilma. Took over three weeks. It always amazes me how many people do not fill up there cars with gas and go get food and surplies before and then complain about it after. Like old vet said... They had time and knew it was coming.

And you don't wait until the last monent to do it either. It amazes me how fast the store shelves are stripped and why people wait until the winds are whipping to think, "Oh, gas!"

Actually supermarket shelves are continually restocked every day and night.
The food trucks roll in and out every day.
When the trucks don't/can't roll - the shelves empty out VERY quickly since most locations do not have a warehouse of food in the rear of the supermarket.

Haven't been to a Florida Publix the day before the wind blows, have you? I realize TP is handy to have around, but geez, someone is on a high-fiber diet. Bread? Better plan on peanut butter and jelly on wheat--hold the wheat!

It's very "entertaining" to see what some people consider "essentials." Once my house is buttoned up, I go to Publix to watch the show. Best entertainment in town! As for me, I go for the vienna sausages and beenie-weenies. True survival foods.

I'm looking forward to hearing stories from my friend when he gets back from there. He's currently hanging out on a NYC street corner with an 870 and a glock. (which is pretty freakin' cool )

...and he's official, got called to go help out.

    Proud of him.

Bloomberg hasn't relieved him of his guns yet? I figured even the NYPD had squirt guns by now.

Bloomberg did not want the National Guard because they have 'guns' (Shiver me timbers!). Only NYPD should have guns on the streets. People actually elected this man..................... Go figure.

Walmart, as usual, has fully mobilized a truck fleet to help, with more prepositioned supplies than FEMA did not have. But the media is not covering this free help from Walmart. It will come out in the next couple of days. Read about FEMA Failure here: FEMA Out of Water, No Delivery Until Monday

Is there anyone else talking about this stuff? Not to sound like an ass, but I'm not real confident in BreitBart or newsbusters.

Nope. He'd come back if it came to that im sure.

They called him and wanted him armed for bear, so unless sombody comes with magical pixie dust pretty quick to make everything all better.
    They are gonna need guns.

My Bad. I don't want to turn this into a Political thread. I don't care what party the elected Bloomberg is from. Just that it was really strange that he would make such poor judgments. Just passing what is being put out there. But to answer your question, yes, go to FNC (they just reported the same, from on the ground).
