Just passing what is being put out there. But to answer your question, yes, go to FNC (they just reported the same, from on the ground).
Oh that's fine, I just don't much buy them as sources, same with The Blaze or Daily Kos. Too partisan and they benefit from making things up to support what they want.

I can't find much on any problems with Sandy except for some looting, fights over gas...and that's it.

Sadly it's not just the government, private companies aren't exactly amazing. They got sued in my state last year for being terrible about getting power back on when we were hit by a freak snowstorm.

Cuba and other places are probably worse off, but NYC has to take importance (I don't like NYC)

Unfortunately, you'll probably not see the main stream media covering this much. A shame but then again there are biases both ways. Similar to not being confident in msn and the like.

Main stream media is too busy with the "We're gonna die!" lady to bother with anything else.

You mean like the NY Times, LA Times, Boston Globe, Washington Post, AP, Reuters and about a gazillion other main stream print media?

Pretty much, just at a more extreme extent. People want to bash the NY Times as some bastion of liberal media, but they fired a guy for posting an anti Iraq War article.

The Globe? The Boston Herald is the conservative version. AP and Reuters? Only insofar as all mainstream media is, in terms of not telling us everything.

I'm guessing you took my post to mean I like the mainstream media when I rarely, if ever pay attention to it. I don't, but I'm also not going to listen to Glenn Beck and Breitbart.com's nuttiness either.

Fox News was saying this morning that Budweiser has halted beer production in one of their breweries and is canning nothing but drinking water to send up to the storm area. They are going to send at least 1 million cans of drinking water. Had video of their production line with cans labeled "drinking water" with their logo on it. As fast as those can are running down the conveyor, it shouldn't take too long to package a million cans.

    Gotta love the private sector

I'm off this topic. Now, observing from afar............

Blessings to the cold, wet and hungry (they 'did not build' that storm), and let's hope our tax money gets used efficiently and well to protect and serve them! Also, Bless those self reliant people who are not looting, but embracing the fellow man to help, before the gov even gets a clue.

I don't disagree with you... I watch/read what's out there, and evaluate on my own what I think is credible. A lot of their bias comes through in the form of "failing to report or cover important stories." A prime example is 90% of the main stream media completely ignoring Benghazi and Ambassador Steven's murder. That is totally irresponsible and shameless.

I've seen nonstop coverage of Benghazi myself, CNN showed it a ton. Only MSNBC didn't as far as I know.

And then I will be off this topic.

There's only so much they can do, and Wal Mart is doing a great thing but they're not dealing with everything FEMA and even the Red Cross has to deal with. It's far more than just handing things out, ya know?

They're all working together, that's how it should be.

Kudos to American businesses like Wal Mart, Johnsonville, Budweiser and others for their compassion and action. Big business gets demonized by some for being greedy fat cats but you would have to be pretty silly to criticize them at this time when so many are in need.
