It might stop bullets but it's definitely going to sting a wee bit if you wear it for body armor.

Though, it's early days, yet. If they can get to the point where the material's properties become well understood and it's then determined it's cost-effective and simple to combine with other materials (say, kevlar/spectra weaves) to complement its properties, then they might well be on to something. Imagine if the resulting materials can be made thin, light, high-performance and low-cost enough to matter.
Bullet-resistant barriers, wrappings for satellites and vehicles, home exterior materials for withstanding extreme weather (tornadoes, hurricanes), vehicle "skins," mundane stuff like work gloves/shoes/jackets. Time will tell.

There's nothing that will change someone's moral outlook quicker than cash in large sums.
