I have an FNX, I think you will like FN. Some people have complained about the fit of the backstraps, but I have never had an issue. Good luck, and enjoy.

I would love to,hear your shooting impressions of it. I have been considering it but it is 3 ozs heavier empty than my P220. I'm curious how that translates when carried all day.

I have the exact same setup. Its a great gun. It doesn't like downloaded ammo for sure. No problems with the backstrap here. My only hangup is if your hands get sweaty it tends to slide around some. The Slide release is a little small, too.

I was hoping to get this beast out to the range today and run some ammo through it, but the rain put a stop to that plan.
My intended use for this gun is not for day to day carry it's just to heavy for that imo 33.2oz empty ..... it will be my home defense piece. I think of it as the welcome wagon lol
I chose the FNP-45 for a few reasons like .... caliber .45, 15 round magazine, de-cock lever, duel action/single action trigger and a 1911 style safety not to mention I like the over all feel of the guns quality. The one thing I don't like so much is the rear sight is difficult for me to see..... so I may be looking to change the sights. Any input on sights would be greatly appreciated.

I'm from Fredericksburg, VA and I never knew FN had a headquarters or a manufacturing plant there (or whatever would warrant Fred, VA on the side). Maybe I'll buy one just for that.

I believe you can get a tour at their factory, you should check it out. FNP40 owner here, great gun.

I've had it out to the range three times now. It's a fun gun for sure. I have put 800 rounds through it and not one failure, my only complaint is that the sights are a bit on the small side for my eyes, so I'm on the lookout for a set of three dot night sights with bigger dots like the kimber comes with. Other then that I am enjoying the gun ...... heres a Target with 30 rounds put to it at 30 feet.
