Are all AR15's manufacture components interchangable?

Most basic parts are totally interchangeable. occasionally you will find something does not mate together such as a upper to lower receiver. This is not the norm however. Most will mate together , parts such as bolts, carriers, trigger groups will all fit.

For the most part everything is interchangable but you have to know what size buffer tube that you have if you want to change stocks.
There are two sizes...one is called "Milspec" and the other is called "Commercial". If you want to go from the standard collapsible to say, a MagPul collapsible you need to know what your tube is so that you can order the right sized stock, other wise it will be too loose or it might not even go on if it is the wrong size.
There isnt enough difference to hardly see with the naked eye, but its enough to make it not work. In most cases,a milspec buffer tube has a square end and the commercial tube has an angled end so that you can tell them apart.
I would rather stand against the cannons of the wicked than against the prayers of the righteous.

There are a few colts out there with different pin sizes. Of course some CAR and AR parts are not compatible
