We run across an ad on this site for Eagle Imports, who handles Bersa.I would like to know how dependable the company is along with products that they sell,along with Bersa.They show a 1911 for around $600.00,I noticed you could get a SA around the same money from a reputable firearms rep. What say the experts.

Haven't heard any bad reports on Eagle Imports. Unlike Bersa which is made in Argentina, the American Classic is made in the Philippines. No connection between the 2 companies, other than importer. There are members here who have AC 1911. IIRC I've seen mixed reviews, however most have been favorable. For budget 1911 also look at Rock Island Armory 1911's. Also made in the Philippines, but get good reviews consistently.
