I Seldom Disparage Any Vendor, however!
Trying to clean up all the unwanted email junk I receive and it's going excellent until I try to unsubscribe to WILSON COMBAT.
They have excellent magazines but everything else seems way over priced IMHO. Anyway, 99% of the no longer wanted emails I oversubscribed to had an unsubscribe option on their web pages and I stopped them in short order. Then WILSON COMBAT...
I spent :25 minutes hunting for their unsubscribe on their web page, I visited everywhere to no avail. Then I determined the only option was to email them and request they unsubscribe me, whoa!
To even communicate with them via email, you first have to sign up for Windows Live ID and create a password. Then you better make sure you didn't miss any of the boxes to uncheck to make sure you didn't just triple your spam. They appear to make it miserable to get unsubscribed. Check it out for yourself at;

I think that's pretty tacky myself and got removed from my favorites list.

They must have the same website manager as the NRA.

I hate it whan they assume a purchase gives them permission to send out spam. I refuse to do business with anyone who sends me spam, just like I won't buy stuff from theives. It only encourages them, and i don't want to get any sleaze on me.
I don't always have nothing to say, but when I do, I post it on Facebook.

It's not like the end of the world or anything but, I don't like shady business practices or intentional inconvenience to further their bottom line.

Just add them to your Junk and or spam filter. You will still get the unwanted mail but it won't clutter your email in box. If they are using spam or malware of any type, attempting to unsubscribe can sometimes trigger more unwanted mail from any affiliate advertisers they may be associated with.

JUST A SOMETHING TO BE AWARE OF..
Some places, but not all, use the unsubscribe to verify that they have reached a valid email address. When someone hits "unsubscribe" the email address is actually confirmed and then sold to spammers. It is often better to "junk" them.

I generally don't patronize business who direct market me. There is just something about that which bothers me.

If all else fails make a quick phone call and ask to be taken off the mailing list.

Often, the e-mail message itself will contain a hyperlink (in tiny print, at the bottom) to unsubscribe. It's much easier than loggin into and searching the company's website.

This is what I have been told by the IT gurus from work as well.
Just mark their unwanted crap as spam/junk, and you will not see it anymore.
This is one reason I have 3 emails.
One gets dumped /signed into accounts just for this reason.

Aside from two real emails through Comcast, (one personal and one for business) I have 4 free Yahoo eddresses. I rotate their use when dealing with people and companies i don't know personally, and sign ups for forums, etc. By rotating their use I can get a better idea of who is selling eddresses. Registering a new GE appliance online brought a flood of spam. They lost my business forever over spam sent on a microwave purchase. Simply asking a question of Bud's Guns brought many spams, but they did not sell the list like GE did.
