New to the forum, looking for a reliable, 9mm that is great for carrying but also fun to shoot. I have never purchased a 9mm before so want to hear what the forums thoughts are.

Welcome from Alabama!
You just asked one heck of a question as there are lots of good options.
Do a search or 2 and you will find many threads and opinions. Have fun in your quest!
Way too general a question. Can you give us some other criteria? Size, price ... something? Otherwise you are just going to get a catalog of 9mm pistols.

You might want to do as I had my wife do. We went to a well stocked gun store, found a very patient salesman and she physically handled a bunch including, with the salesman’s permission of course, trying the ones she found suitable in her purse. Her choice? A Ruger SR9c and a Ruger LCP. Myself I ‘m partial to Smith and Glock but she liked neither. By the way, she liked how both shot and I’ll have to admit I was really pleased with the SR9c.
I would say Glock 19. Very concealable, high capacity, accurate, reliable.
+4 on the Glock 19. I like carrying it so well, I had my Glock 17's grip length reduced to that of a 19.

Ruger LC9 pocket carry for me Black hawk holster![]()
Glock 19 is a fine choice. I carried a Kel Tec PF9 for awhile and while it is highly conceallable, it was not fun to shoot more than a mag or two, which was one of your criteria. I've also carried a Colt New Agent in 9mm. Excellent if you have the coin. Otherwise, the Glock 19 is great. I've had two. I have been thinking of picking up a Ruger LC9 (handgun of the year 2011). From what I hear, it's basically a refined PF9 with a little less recoil.

XD Subcompact for double stack, lighter single stack Walther PPS
I currently only have 1 9mm, a Walther PPS. It is great. In the spring I will be looking for another (a little larger), and will take a very serious look at the CZ lineup.
