    Henry Lever Action 22

    Hey guys

I was surprised when my mother came over and brought a christmas gift for me in the form of a Henry Lever Action 22. I feel like I am back in the minor leagues. Any of you guys know more info on the Henry 22? I will post pics later.

The lever Henry is a major boat load of fun and a good rifle. Their all American made and are usually a good shooter.

Hard to beat for plinking and critters. Cheaper to shoot, too! Merry Christmas!

    Probably my dream gun lol
I love my cheap Savage, but I've always wanted a fancier-than-necessary Henry

Good little guns. I have the H001 and the Golden Boy. I prefer the H001 because the tang drop is not as steep as the GB's, but that's personal preference.

For levers I have a BL22, some Marlin 39's, a Winchester 9422, the GB and the H001. For some reason I grab the H001 most often.

The action is very smooth. If you go to rimfirecentral.com and look under the Henry section, you'll learn more than you care to know about these rifles. If you like peep sights, search for my handle - PEF - for started threads and you'll find several for peep sight options.

One word of warning - if you have the H001, note the receiver is painted, and can scratch to reveal the aluminum. It's inevitable with these guns if you use them a lot, but it's not a big deal.

I have a Henry catalog that has been open to the Golden Boy .22 for several days. One of my dream rifles.

No minor leagues there. Love my Henry Frontier. Even had Chance (Lever) Shelton make a combo butt cuff and sling for her so I wouldn't have to drill sling mounts. Custom Leather Buttstock Covers Hand Crafted By Lever

Another mod to mention is new sights. I recently put hiviz fiber optic sights on mine, and now it's accuracy potential is fully realized. Mine is the h001.

My next is the 22 magnum.

To the OP: These are the best things for the H001's because they have a dovetail cut (see HIVIZ Barrel Band Front Sight Assembly Henry Lever Action 22 Long for the .22 LR).

For a long time I was stuck with the stock H001 front sight that had no dovetail, but now you can use these to put in front sights of different heights.

This is not needed if you have an H001T or a GB, because those have the dovtail cut in the barrel.
