Is this still an option? If so, I'll sign myself, hubby and son up pronto.

One question about the Life Membership. I checked my "status" page today at the NRA site and it has my membership at Annual Regular, but my expiration at the year 2033. Does it take some time to update?
Thanks Michael Brewer #162297384 Marion, Ohio! I was able to upgrade to Life membership. Soon I will have my credentials. No problem, about 20 minute wait but went right through.

The site "appears" to be legit. Link, phone number, and address are all correct. If you do a WHOIS search for the site, the registration pops up as:

I did a whois check on NRA.org, NRAHQ.org, and NRA-2013.org and found no problem.
NRAHQ.org is the admin domain for NRA.org and of NRA-2013.org.
NRA-2013.org was created in september of 2012, probably intended for a 2013 campaign.
There should be zero issues with using that web site, but if in doubt, call them.
Tom Gresham, of the nationally syndicated radio show Gun Talk, has set up his own membership call in number for the NRA $300 lifetime. Here is his tweet from this morning (you can confirm the legitamacy of this on twitter on Tom's feed):
@Guntalk: OK! *This will work now. *For the $300 NRA life membership, call 1-888-678-7894. *No waiting on hold! *Don't need my member number. *RT.

I just spent over 30 minutes on the phone before I got through - 11:00 am.
I needed to identify a specific person I was sponsoring.
Now He'll have to spend similar time on the phone to complete his signup.
While I was at it, I asked why I had to be on the phone or call in for each person.
I got a reasonable explanation (though I don't really agree with it), but they have now noted in my account that I can sponsor without calling in again - the member number will be sufficient.
If that doesn't work, you can email me and I'll call again, but it may take a day or so.
I really encourage you to do it online at the nra-2013.org site. It's faster, and I personally think it's completely safe. It's faster, and a LOT less hassle.

Thanks Keith for providing the necessary information for me to be able to sign up online. I have been trying by phone all week (they are super busy) so this saved me a lot of time.
