This is a good oppertunity to send this to every woman's rights organization you can find. Apparently the Brady campaign doesn't feel that women are capable of defending themselves...

One of the comments mentioned that this ad was racist, sexist and bigoted that brought back women to where the, uh, er, Republicans wanted to bring them had they won the Presidential election. Funny, how it is OK to be this way if you are liberal and the topic is gun control.

??? What century and continent do we live in??? Yeah, cuz in this country it is customary that I be escorted at all times by a male relative for my safety. That must be what they're suggesting!? (Okay, I'll get back to the kitchen-where I belong, apparently-and make my husband a sandwich.)

While you are making that sandwich can you make me a BLT?

Women should be able to defend themselves any way they choose without someone dictating to them.

Yawn...More of the demonizing and marginalizing of gun owners. Only white, male rednecks and "skin heads" own guns. Any other group (women in this case) that happen to own guns are "compensating" or "angry" or "(insert stereotype against those who don't fit the "norm")". This type of silly sloganeering by anti-gunners is wearing thin. Hopefully more people will tire of this and realize empty name-calling by the Brady Bunch and crew is all the "ammo" they've got left.

I don't get it... They (as in women, the woman in the picture) have men to protect them. Do they really need assault rifles? Are they saying the rifle, whatever it may be, an air rifle, is sufficient? Should we arm our Military with air rifles? They're men. They're protecting women, among other people.

I just don't understand. Is it an insult at manhood, because we feel we need such a rifle to defend ourselves? Seeing some of the threats people face, such a rifle is not unreasonable. I guess the police aren't real men. Neither is the military... buncha pansy's need assault rifles! Though, they truly have assault rifles. 99.9% of American's have no such thing.

What about the women who own these rifles for self defense of themselves?

I much prefer Oleg Volk's sensible approach (BTW, I asked him for permission to post these, and his reply was "My posters were made specifically for wide distribution by like-minded people. By popularizing them, you are helping the common cause, so please go ahead and use them as you see fit.")

Wow,just wow. Lovely that they think women need men to protect them. Like mama said, what century is this?
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." . . . You must do the thing you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt

No "stereotyping" in that ad ... no ... none at all ...... no bias about women what-so-ever.

I would buy and post a counter ad.... showing some "women" ..... and man alive, we have some of the most beautiful police women you've ever seen ...... and I'm sure they would volunteer to be in the poster..... with their badges on the side of their bikini / shorts / whatever and saying

" yes we do" ... "when the shtf , you call us ". LOL
