Am I being paranoid, or does anyone else think it strange that someone who only posts as being "in the USA" asks us to approve his probably illegal activity in his/her very first post?

In fact, the poster starts out by asking us how to circumvent NY State/City laws.

You could borrow a hunting rifle for the immediate hunting trip(s). Or maybe you can rent one at your destination.

Yes H.P., you ARE being paranoid. And, considering today's socio-political environment, I'm glad your paranoia is on...my side of the fence!

It appears that there is a misconception. I am not asking for illegal advice, quite the contrary

You might quailfy for one of the exceptions since you have property in both states, but you should talk to a lawyer to make certain.

All you have to worry about are the laws where the guns are. Pennsylvania recognizes other states CCW. They also have a non resident of their own. I would get one to be safe in that state. Plus if you own property there I would ask about their residency status. Sometimes residency for something like this is just owning land. Not necessarily how much time you spend there.

There is no such thing as "illegal advice". There is only bad "legal advice" that, if taken, results in illegal activity. That's our point!

There are federal laws to deal with here. Ignore them at your own risk.

    Simple yes or no
Get legal advice is the best answer. Next piece of advice -- if you ask a question don't tell us how to answer.

Ok, you're approved. I have no idea the laws and regulations regarding multi-state residences/property, nor am I familiar with NY/PA licensing/permitting of firearms. But it sounds like the Walmart Sporting Goods Dept. figured it out for you. Sounds like your question regarding your purchase has been answered, since I gather you've already made the purchase?

    There is no "misconception".

You are asking people on a defensive carry internet forum to give you advice on an activity you are considering doing that might be against the laws of one or more of the States you are referring to.

If you are interested in knowing whether or not the activity you are considering doing is legal or illegal, you should hire a qualified attorney to give you the legal advice you are seeking.
