Solution to high capacity magazine problem

I have a solution to the high capacity magazine problem.

Here is what we should do. Whenever a person buys a high capacity magazine, just have them verbally promise to not load more than say 5 rounds in the magazine at any time.

This type of solution has worked for the United States and the UN against tyrants around the globe in the past and should be an effective, fast and simple solution to a very complex problem.

Or simply make it "illegal" to load more than 5 rounds. That'll work as well as speed limits.

Just add a zero to that 5 (=50) and...

NO! Still not the governments business.

Enforcement of such a law might require a magazine check along with the speeding ticket. That would be one ticket for 75 in a 65 and another ticket for 15 in a 5.

Make the fine $100 per round over limit. That will get them to slow down.

We just need to post signs that read, "Notice: Magazine Limits of Five (5) Bullets Per Magazine Will Be Strictly Enforced".

And higher penalties if it turns out you used more than 5 rounds in the commission of a crime.

That is genius. I can imagine the next conversation I will have with an anti:

Anti: "We need to ban hi-capacity 'clips'"
Me: "No, we just need to make it illegal to load more than 10 round in existing magazines"
    Anti: "Ha, ha"
Me: "No, I'm serious, why wouldn't it work?"
Anti: "Because criminals would just load more than 10!"
Me: "...so you are saying that gun control law wouldn't work because criminals don't obey the law?"

We could swear an oath sort of like the members of Congress.

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully promise to only load 5 rounds in a 30 round magazine: So help me God.

Listened to a Liberal anti- .... interviewing a competition shooter the other night. And they were on a roll about the proposal to limit everyone to purchasing 100 rds per purchase. He was commenting that some thought that they should limit it to 50 rds. Then he started the interview..... and at one point into it asked .... "Can you explain any reason that a person would need to buy 100 rounds of ammunition , why on earth would anyone need that many rounds ? "

It got interesting from there ..... with the interviewer being astounded by the answers he was getting. The guy he was interviewing , told him anyone going to a range will shoot between 100 - 300 rounds when they go. The interviewer, could not even phantom that ... nor why anyone would do that. Then when he pointed out that he was a competition shooter, and he shot about 300 rounds daily....the reactions got right down funny from there on out.

They really have "NO CLUE" guys.

Some of them want to limit you to buying 50 rounds per month. Period. Not... per caliber.. in total.

Then that will cause all of the handgunners to say..."This Is A Clip & Not A Magazine!!!" so I can put as many rounds as I want in here.
I would get a kick out of that terminology turnaround.

I have no “hi-cap” mags what so ever, all the ones I have are normal capacity mags designed for the weapons they are used in.

This... those "Hi-Cap" magazines are actually what I like to call "standard issue".
