I Went To A LGShow Today And

I went to a LGShow today and:

60% of the handguns were still reasonably priced, 20% were a bit higher, and 20% were ridiculously priced WAY too high.

30% of the rifles were still reasonable. 40% were a bit high but not too bad from what I’ve read and 30% were … well … YOU GOT TAH BE OUT OF YOUR FREAKING MIND!! Even a simple shotgun's price varied from table to table.

There was plenty of ammo to be had, and that's actually what I went there to checkout.

Handgun ammo was still selling for their normal show prices and all calibers were available.

But ALL of the rifle ammo prices were … well … YOU GOT TAH BE OUT OF YOUR FREAKING MIND!! 30-30, 30-06, and such was a bit high but not too bad, but not as bad as the .308, and the 7.62 variety.

Now the .223/5.56 was any where’s from $1.30 to $1.95 a round. The only way you could get a bargain on that was to buy a 1000r can for $998.00! And it was still selling but not very fast at those prices! I can't wait for the feeding frenzy to end

A 500r box of .22 was $55.00 for lead, and $75.00 for JHP!

Normally you’d pay admission and walk right in. But it was an hour & 12-min wait to get in! It opened at 9am, I got there at 11:10am, got inside about 12:30pm, stayed till about 2:50pm, and the line to get in was still around the block!!!

Yeah OK…that was a looooong wait but I had to go in to see if they were giving anything away

    Nope

But once inside it didn’t seem any more crowded then normal, and people were buying stuff. Not buying many rifles or rifle ammo though because of the prices but the ammo was selling, and the handguns and ammo was briskly selling. Early this past week I was at Bass, Cabela’s, Gander, and of course WW. And their cupboards were all but dry. That’s why I waited sooooo looooong to get in, to get some ammo, which I only bought handgun ammo, because like I said. It was all still normally priced.

And SCREW DICK’S!! I wouldn’t buy a pair of bootlaces their much less anything else!

OH…and for those whom may want to know. 30r P-mags were all around everywhere. They were $35.00 to $65.00 depending on the vender. Most other 30r 5.56-mags were $25.00 and up.

The rest of the accessories and other firearms mags were all normally priced there too.

My locally family owned gun store is always less than gun shows on like items...plus I don't have to pay to park or get in....so I don't go to gun shows....never saw the use of doing so.
There are two types of people who carry concealed weapons...Responsible ones and Irresponsible ones...which are you...

I haven't been to a gun show in years, and oddly enough I really don't feel like I'm missing anything.

And years ago. Mid 80's as I recall I purchased a case of 5,000 rounds of Chinese (now banned) 7.62-39 for a whopping $55

The shelves at local gun stores are stripped clean of .22 LR of any kind. Still looks like a hurricane scare in a Galveston HEB.....

Would you say that this threat to our 2nd Amendment rights is backfiring in the left's face as everyone is arming up?

Read up on "Vance Packard" A marketing expert from the early 60's. He coined the phrase "what ever the market will bear" when setting the price point.

Every 5 years or so, I go to a gun show to remind myself why I don't go anymore.

Saw about the same thing the OP did today. The wildest was a guy coming in the door with a plain Jane AR type. Someone asked him the price. Two Grand. All I could do was shake my head. The guy who asked just smiled and walked away.

I don't go to them anymore either. Prices too high.

I get the best gun deals through my pawn shop buddy.
