Compact or full size--carryable byt not tiny.
Looking at Sig Sauer P2022 and P250. What else should I consider? I want better quality than Ruger SR9.
Would love H&K P30 if it were a tad cheaper.

Nothing better or more reliable than the Glock 19! More after-market "stuff" than the normal person can buy (or need)! The Glock 17 is just as good (or better), just larger.

Love my sp2022 but if you want aftermarket stuff it definitely is lacking in that department.

+1 on 12gauge's comments about Glock. There's so much out there! Plus, they're great guns.
Have you looked at the CZ line? They're not too heavy, they shoot great and look good doing it. The P07 duty, for example, might meet your needs.
I carry HKs which I love, but wouldn't be such a snob as to say you can't get a fine gun that costs less. It can also be hard to find certain aftermarket stuff for them, depending on which model you choose.
Have fun!

I just bought the CZ 75 p07 Duty as my first ccw gun and love it. I had a very strict set of demands for the gun I wanted.
# 1 it needed to be affordable 500-600 range
# 2 I wanted something that would still be fun to shoot and not hurt my hand every time I shot it (pf9 pf11)
# 3 I am a skinny guy so size was a issue.
# 4 I wanted something DA/SA so I could work on my trigger pulls.
# 5 I wanted ammo capacity. Nothing with a single stack mag.
After all those it really narrowed my search down quite a bit.
I originally wanted the cz 2075 remi but due to lack of stock and cz not knowing when they could have them shipped I went to my local gun store and browsed around and compared a few side by side. They even let me test them with IWB holsters and try them on to see how they felt. After about 5 trips to the gun store and about 3 months of debating, researching and just not being able to make my mind up I decided to go with the CZ. I do not regret it. I absolutely love to gun. It incredibly accurate, it fits my hand very well and it's not to heavy when fully loaded. I would recommend this gun to anyone. However I would steer away from the .40 because I have heard that they can have some feed issues from time to time. I am not sure if cz has fixed that yet either.
<== This is my Springfield Armory XD sub-compact. I like it a lot.
Generally, I'd say a Glock or Springfield Armory are good reasonably priced options.
Already said....glock 19 would be my choice
Goal: "Compact" or full-size, able to be easily carried but not tiny, 9mm, under $650.
CZ's got a couple: CZ P-01, CZ Compact D PCR, CZ 2075 RAMI (BD decocker, or std manual safety), and the polymer variant of the 2075 RAMI. IMO, the CZ 75 series of pistols (which basically includes the P-01 and PCR) is stellar. Extremely reliable, most folks find them exceptionally ergonomic (in the way the Browning Hi-Power is), and very accurate.
For $650-700 or so, you might be able to find a H&K USP or P2000 (though, it might need to be a pre-owned one). Extremely reliable. There have been examples of both recently on GunBroker for $700 or so, for example.

How about an M&P 9c? List price $569. Holds 12+1, very concealable. Accurate and dependable.
Oh I forgot to mention that the cz p07 duty can be had at most stores for around $485 and honestly I would have paid $585 for this gun. It comes with a decocker installed and has a safety that comes in the box and they are interchangeable. So if you like the safety it's nice that they give you the option.
The Glock and M&Ps are both fantastic platforms.

Last week I bought a G-19 and I'm satisfied. They didn't have any spare magazines to purchase for it nor can I find any anywhere else. Go figure?
I think, therefore I am...
