Isn't it a shame that the states which were part of the beginning of this country, now seem to be the states that are trying to end this country?

All the businesses here use them and their kids now so you're the one thanking them for giving them your money instead of getting nice friendly service. They hear your southern accent and look at you like you are a moron then they burn the engine up on their new lawn mower because they didn't realize they didn't already come with oil. We have neighors from NYC that also came from other countries with arrogance and lack of common sense I have never experienced yet they look down on the people that were born here. No let those jerks (vast majority) stay up there and reap their rewards. They have migrated here and paid WAY too much per square foot for these developer homes and driven prices up, crowded the towns and turned Conyers Ga, the quiet nice place, into a pure hell hole. If I see another bling bling huge watch and 200 dollar sweat suits and luxury car I might puke. DONT MOVE HERE PLEASE!!!! We don't like southern New Jersey transformations. It was a nice place to live here before it went Northern.

When I was growing up in northwest CT we used to say the same thing about New Yorkers. Especially the ones from the NYC area. (the ones in upstate NY are usually pretty good country folk and should be its own separate state) We would always complain because they brought their city arrogance and attitudes with them. In the fall they would drive 15 in a 45 to look at leaves. You want to look at leaves then why don't you rake my yard then? In general no matter where I have lived in the county people from lower NY state have not been welcomed, and this includes states in the northeast. I have moved to the south and to the northwest. I moved to those places because of what they are and I never once made any attempt to change those places.

As for the law that was passed. I don't see many in upstate New York registering their rifles or getting rid of their mags. The Governor there wanted to confiscate but when they looked at it they didn't have the money to do that since they would have to compensate the owners. And that was with only the rifles they know about.

To all the Freedom loving people stuck behind enemy lines in the People's Socialist State of New York may God help you.

I forgot to mention but there's a town in Idaho that is actively recruiting firearm manufacturers to move to their town. The area already has water and electrical to the area to and they are going to give tax incentives. They're doing this to get the companies to move to free states.

For all purposes New York now considers a Ruger 10/22 an "assault rifle" because they have 10 round mags. How about people's duck and turkey guns who wanted one with a pistol grip on the back. I guess they now have to register to.

It's "justification" in the historically worst sense of the word. To list five recent shootings including that during which Rep. Giffords was injured as "justification" because they "clearly point to the need to ban assault-style weapons, for stricter gun control laws and increased criminal sanctions" is not only "justification" for unconstitutional action but doesn't match a solution to the problem shootings that it states. It's pathetic "justification" for an agenda of tyrannical control of the people.

Doesn't matter. You can't "vote out" any provision of the bill of rights nor the constitution.
This is infringement on a massive scale. One which turns law abiding citizens into criminals over night!
There are many ways this law can be struck down.
This will not pass muster with SCOTUS and guess what? If it DOES pass muster with SCOTUS, then all bets are off and we start the next civil war!

    Friggin count on it!

Re: 7 round mag limits in NY

I am from NY and am still going through the bill. 70 pages long when printed. I am also from upstate so don't group me in with those idiots down state. We gun owners are a minority. Obviously. I voted for none of them but we are out numbered. Heavily.

With the new law I'm a felon x many times over. Magazines are not registered. Rifles aren't either but obviously there is a paperwork trail. Pistols well they are on your permit so they do have a better paper trail.

Confiscation was in the bill but pulled at the last min. And now our politicians were given anywhere from 20 mins to 2 hours to review the proposed bill prior to vote. Cuomo used dirty tactics to push it through. And he by by passed the standard 3 day wait period for review etc so it couldn't get rejected. And he will be your next president candidate as he has already stated.

Now.. for us western ny'ers we have a layer who is already offering his services pro bono to fight these idiots. The NRA has already called me asking for donations to help in this fight.

It's being speculated that the whole Sandy Hook "tragedy" was a hoax. It was a FEMA training event. Given to the media as a political whatever you wish to call it to help their agenda. Something didn't feel / sound right from the start of that.

Now as for the ill feeling of us in your state. Spent time in NC while in the military. They don't like us. Understood. You have your reasons. But when I said I'm from ny it was always assumed the city. That's all people know or associate it with. When I responded with no from Niagara falls way the changed their tune. I want out of this state. I'm not sure where to go. Nothing will come from this. We in upstate can not win against those in down state. We up here just wish they would detach themselves from us. Esp when it comes to presidential elections. Already a group of us discussing where to go.

I'm sure the last remaining gun manufacturers will be leaving. It was already stated so when the idiots passed the stupid micro stamping law.

Read the new bill. Even the short version. We are fighting this. If we don't you'll see this in other states I'm sure. Only a matter of time. Now I'm back to researching where I can move my family to.

They have, effectively, through their elected slugs. Formally and in writing, legally. So far as the courts will be concerned, they certainly have.

Though, the flipside of that is true as well. It's time to leverage the other elements of our form of governance, to be sure, so those who vehemently disagree with the unconstitutional steps taken by these slugs are reversed and the slugs in question are ejected from our midst. And that right quick, firmly and resolutely ... but absolutely. The bell's tolling, for all of us. Time to drop the bell on "their" heads.

Now that NY has outlawed Lugers and P-38's.....I bet they are sooo much safer now.

Yeah safer. I feel safe. But with this new law I'm just another felon. I won't say in a public forum what I currently own for obvious reasons. So I'm now waiting for the knock on my door telling me to turn over my guns. Result won't be pretty. They will pry them from my cold dead hands.

Where I live in Florida, 5 months out of the year everything is overrun with people from New York and New Jersey. Traffic, crowds, restaurants packed, golf courses packed, then they all go back home for the summer. If you can stand the heat, summer's are very easy going here.

Agreed, though I think Glock might have a larger impact. Nothing against Remington, but how many handguns would need to be replaced if Glick was no longer for sale to NYS agencies?

Neither Glock, nor anyone else, is going to punish law enforcement for liberal legislator's decisions. The US Glock facility is located in Georgia, so they don't really have to pull out of anywhere. Kimber and Remington are located in the state of New York and therefore fund the state. I do believe they should both pack up and move their offices and manufacturing facilites to a state that values the Second Amendment.

At least the streets of NY will be safe from the dreaded H&R 922 hi capacity Assault Revolver.
