I want to make it known to all New Yorkers that I'm willing to take any "hi-capacity" mags off their hands and prevent them from ending up in the possession of criminals. PM me and I'll give you my address. I may even pay for shipping.... because I care. Remember I'm willing to do this "for the children"!

Purchase records; seen on a shooting range; stopped/searched during traffic stops; an inadvertent verbal slip-up, possibly combined with a friendly neighborhood anonymous tipster doing his "civic duty" ...

It is not ex post facto as they are not saying they will arrest you for having purchased the mags in the past. They will arrest you if you don't get rid of them by some future date. It is a stupid law, but not ex post facto.

Is this the first true confiscation law we have seen. I know Katrina, but that was wholesale rogue actions, not a law passed. Did 1934 or 1968 confiscate property? I don't think they did (other than the funds to buy a tax stamp), but I am not certain.

Since the NY laws have passed, All you NY criminals need to send me your "illegal" weapons, ammo and magazines. Since you are law abiding, I know you will comply because your elected politicians have decided that you can no longer be trusted to own anything dangerous. Please contact me off line and I will give you an address to send them to. If you "Mommies" will let you go to the mail box by yourselves that is. Oh and be careful crossing the street.
P.S. Before contacting me please get a note from your local politician that will give you permission to play with someone from an adult state...Thank you.

Unfortunately, firearms manufacturers will dig this. Now they get to sell NY'ers all new mags. They dont care about it so long as they make money. Trust me, big business is not run on principal. It's run on the almighty dollar.

There is a point where you cut your own throat though. There will be nor more sales of new firearms to the people of NY. I'm pretty sure the gun companies aren't happy about it.

I don't believe anyone even makes seven round magazines for my P225. Or for my Ruger MkII! I do believe New York basically banned everything I have except my revolver and my Savage 110fp. I will have to look but I might have a seven round for my P220.

Just goes to show you the incremental approach. First 10, then 7, next 5, then 2, and ultimate goal ZERO.
