Are you, or do you know, a teacher willing to carry concealed at work?
If you're a teacher who is/isn't willing to carry a concealed firearm while at work — why?
Or, do you know any teachers who have expressed their opinions on carrying at school? What did they say?
Also attached is a poll asking: Would you send your child(ren) to a school where teachers carried concealed firearms? The poll is anonymous, so be honest. And, if there are caveats such as training requirements, etc., share them, please. I couldn't fit anymore words in the poll question, heh.
I recently got into a discussion (read here) with a former high school English teacher of mine, whom I respect a great deal. She's still teaching, but since Sandy Hook, her opinions on firearms have been shared freely on Facebook. I'm not even sure she had an opinion on firearms until Newtown happened, but alas.
Lately she's been posting more about her opposition to teachers carrying firearms at school, basically saying, "keep your guns, let me teach." But, she seems to think teachers would be forced to carry a firearm to work, even though that's not been the case and likely would never be the case — it'd be purely voluntary. At least, that's how she's coming across.
So it made me wonder what you all thought. Thanks for the participation and the conversation!
