Well what are you duracoating? That 'tis the question!
AR-15? Might be cool/useful.
Inside of the barrel of a Colt Trooper? Probably not so much.
If your capable of doing a professional job fine. I've seen so many that looked amateurish and it ruined the resale value. It's your gun so do what you want.
I DuraCoated two CZ-82s that turned out fine (after a couple of goofs). One I shoot, and it's held up fine except for the tip of the extractor. The secret is in the prep work. I'd try some practice items first to see how it turns out and if you still want it on your firearm.
I am told and must admit I don't know this to be true, that ceracoat is more durable.

I don't know how Cerakote compares to Dura. I've seen some crappy examples of both so I'd bet it comes down to how well it's applied. I paid $45-50 for the slide on this LCP.

Also It'd be for my Px4 Storm..
Thinking of maybe getting the slide and trigger components..
I want to get my barrel just polished
Or maybe just coat the polymer body..
And what do you think about coating a barrel?would it be ok..
Or maybe I could just stick with polishing it and leaving it stainless..
